Hurricane Fiona made landfall in Puerto Rico on September 18th, causing ongoing catastrophic flooding, total loss of power and devastation throughout the island. This Fund is comprised of pre-vetted nonprofits providing emergency disaster response to Puerto Ricans in need. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations’ initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. We have initially selected organizations that are on the ground assisting with immediate relief needs, including rescue efforts and medical assistance. The composition of nonprofits in this Fund is subject to change as we learn more about the needs on the ground.

The 2020 Atlantic hurricane season was one for the record books before it even officially started. The NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) forecasted as many as 25 named storms and six major hurricanes, more than double the 1981-2010 historical averages. So far, there have been 30 named storms including 13 hurricanes, most recently Eta and Iota which devastated parts of Central America. In addition, wildfires continue to ravage through California, Oregon and Washington State leveling homes and displacing thousands. Support the efforts of our national and international disaster relief partners, so they may actively prepare and respond to all regions affected by natural disasters this year. All gifts to this fund will be matched at 50% per our Giving That Matters employee giving guidelines. One gift to the 2020 Disaster Relief Fund will be split equally among all the organizations in the fund.

In wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the most vulnerable in our communities are even more at risk. With school closures, students who are on free and reduced breakfast and lunch programs lack access to these meals and families who are forced out of work may need additional support at home. We recognize as employees watch this health crisis unfold, they are looking for ways to help. This fund includes national partners who are addressing these needs in our communities. All gifts made to this fund (through the campaign option) will be matched 100% by Campbell through June 30th.

Hurricane Dorian, which hit the northern Bahamas as one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes on record as a Category 5, has caused extreme destruction on the Grand Bahama and Abaco Islands. Infrastructure has been destroyed, death tolls are rising and more than 70,000 people are homeless. There is currently no electricity or running water. Campbell is responding to this disaster with a truckload of Pace and Prego Ready to Serve meals, Chunky and Red & White soups donated to Convoy of Hope to be deployed over the coming weeks to residents in need. In addition, the company is providing $30,000 in financial contributions to Convoy of Hope and Team Rubicon to support short term relief and long-term rebuilding. In addition, devastating earthquakes, catastrophic flooding and continued active western wildfires have put more people in need then ever before. Campbell's major disaster partners are responding to all these humanitarian crises and are on the ground bringing relief and recovery services to those impacted.

Several powerful tornados hit central Indiana on Friday, March 31, 2023 as well as other areas in the Midwest, leaving a trail of destruction behind. Lives were lost, and homes and businesses have been destroyed. The following organizations are providing aid to those affected by providing shelter, distributing food, water and clothing, and assessing long and short-term needs. Hurricane Ian, a powerful Category 4 storm, made landfall in Florida on September 28th. Millions of Floridians were urged to evacuate and thousands are left without electricity, running water, and access to emergency medical care and supplies. Hurricane Ian's high winds and catastrophic flooding have caused devastation to several Florida communities, and maximum recovery efforts are underway. The organizations selected for this Fund are currently on the ground in Florida organizing direct relief efforts and providing shelter, medical care, food, and supplies to survivors of the storm.
